Trinidad Rancheria will work with Coastal Commission, tribe says after staff criticism of 100-room hotel

The Trinidad Rancheria has about a month to respond to a recently released state Coastal Commission staff report finding that the tribe’s upcoming hotel project is inconsistent with state policy.

At a May 10 hearing, the commission will consider the 28-page report, which finds that the hotel’s design and environmental assessment could be at odds with California coastal policies in a number of aspects, including traffic, water supply, wastewater treatment and the hotel’s visual features.
