Sports betting legislation has once again been proposed in the country's most populous state as two California politicians presented a new bill for consideration Thursday.
The move comes after a previous initiative brought forth by the group Californians For Sports Betting failed to garner the support needed to earn a spot on the 2020 ballot, and quickly died on the vine as those behind the proposal never sought to acquire one of the required 623,000 signatures, a number that represents 5 percent of total votes seen in the previous gubernatorial election.
