Thunder Valley Receives Six KCRA A List Awards - Including Best Casino

Thunder Valley Casino announced today it has received six KCRA A*List Awards in 6 different categories including top honors for Best Casino. The NBC affiliate station announced the winners online.

Thunder Valley’s Koi Palace received Best Chinese Restaurant in “Good Eats” category, beating out well-known Frank Fat’s. Austins Steakhouse placed second in the “Steakhouse” category, edging out competitors Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Morton’s. The Feast Around the World Buffet placed second in the “Seafood” category, right behind Scott’s Seafood.

Both Thunder Valley bars also won top honors, Falls Bar received “Best Trendy Bar” and Thunder Bar received the award for “Best Sports Bar.”

“This is just further affirmation of the incredible dining and entertainment options we have at Thunder Valley,” said Richard St. Jean, general manager of Thunder Valley. “With construction underway on a hotel and spa, there is a lot to be excited about at Thunder Valley!”

Thunder Valley Casino, a 200,000-square-foot, entertainment and dining complex owned by the United Auburn Indian Community, opened in June 2003. Located 30 miles east of Sacramento, it is Northern California's first casino offering all the elements of real Las Vegas-style gaming: service, cuisine and entertainment in an attractive, quality facility. Thunder Valley Casino offers approximately 2,700 slot and video machines, 100 table games, a 500-seat buffet, food court, Thunder Café and Austins Steakhouse. Also on property is the Falls Bar and parking for 3,300 vehicles. Construction is under way on additional gaming space, a hotel, parking garage and a spa. It is expected to be completed in summer 2010.
