LINCOLN, Calif. -- Thunder Valley Casino said it would resume expansion plans on its new resort in late spring, according to representative Doug Elmets.

The project will create more than 500 construction jobs, Elmets said.

The project will be a scaled-down rendition of the original project, Elmets said, such as fewer rooms and an entertainment center that's smaller than originally planned.

 
 Construction will start in mid-April and end by the original deadline of July 2010, Elmets said.

A formal announcement from the casino is expected Thursday.
