A thank you to casino plan opponent

Potterville Recorder 1-11-04

I submitted a letter to the editor which was published on Nov. 20 with my views concerning the relocation of the Indian Casino on Highway 190.

Since that time, there have been numerous letters sent in pro and con concerning this issue. May I say thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Inabinette, for the extensive research done and the concern you both have shown in regards to this issue.

Having lived in Porterville since 1949 it has been my pleasure to enjoy the Springville community with its quiet rural atmosphere and serene mountain majesty since childhood.

I stand with many long-time Porterville citizens as well as Springville residents who hope to see the casino remain on the reservation where it is now.

From all of the research done, from all the facts presented, it is my conclusion that the pros to the change casino location are far outweighed by the cons. Any increase in business to the area would be far outweighed by the by-products; heavy traffic, pollution, drying up of neighboring wells, sewage flowing into Lake Success.

To relocate the casino would be a detriment to the environment, morality and economy of the local region.

Thank you again to the Inabinettes for their strong stand on this issue. I know that many agree with them and support their views.
