Event Description
Twenty years have passed since Congress enacted the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. While the statutory framework for Indian gaming has remain unchanged since 1988, IGRA has been supplemented and interpreted by numerous federal regulations and court decisions, which have sought to keep pace with constantly changing game technology. This has been particularly true in the area of Class II gaming, which includes electronically-aided bingo games.
Sycuan has invited leaders from tribes throughout the country which have been prominent in the area of Class II gaming; elected officials who helped write IGRA; federal, state and tribal gaming regulators; and other interested parties to participate in this unprecedented three day hearing to provide the Sycuan Gaming Commission with the most up-to-date information on the history of IGRA, regulations, court decisions and evolving Class II technology to assist them in fulfilling their regulatory responsibility.
