EDC warns of casino traffic

December 25, 2008 The Amador County Ledger Dispatch Staff Report

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Department, the California Highway Patrol and the El Dorado County Fire Department are warning area motorists and El Dorado County residents to be extra vigilant over the next several weeks as the new Red Hawk Casino plans its grand opening events.

Although the morning commute will not likely coincide with casino activities, afternoon and evening traffic have the possibility to be affected during these planned events.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Department as well as the CHP will be increasing patrols and evaluating traffic in nearby neighborhoods in an effort to minimize impact to local residences.

Local law enforcement advises you to consider travel times and routes now and make adjustments for situations, which may affect commutes as of Dec. 17.
