The Indian Gaming Committee has agreed to San Bernardino’s request for $126,675.13 in carryover funds from previous allocations.
The money includes savings and interest from previous allocations for two police cars and related equipment, and will be spent for that purpose, according to the city’s request.
The Committee is made up of representatives of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, the cities of San Bernardino and Highland, and the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors.
It was established to distribute money provided by the tribe to mitigate impacts of the tribe’s casino operations, including traffic and crime at and adjacent to the casino.
Highland’s most recent request was for money to widen southbound Victoria Avenue at Highland Avenue to construct a right turn lane. That project is underway now.
