The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce announced Monday that the prestigious Los Angeles Corporate Leadership Award will be presented to San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino.

The award, presented each year to a company or organization that has demonstrated superior leadership in the long-term economic growth and prosperity of our region, was announced by Chamber President & CEO Gary Toebben.  “For 25 years, San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino, an economic development of the San Manuel Band of Serrano Mission Indians, has been a leader in the Inland Empire entertainment and gaming industry. They have built a solid foundation and reputation within the Inland Empire business community, as well as Los Angeles with large corporate ties to STAPLES Center, Dodgers Stadium, Santa Anita Park, and many more. We are honored to recognize them with the Corporate Leadership Award,” said Toebben.

Located in the Inland Empire, just 67 miles from downtown Los Angeles, San Manuel has been offering fun and entertainment since 1986.  Owned and operated by the San Manuel Band of Serrano Mission Indians, the Casino is one of Southern California’s top destinations for entertainment, attracting more than two million visitors each year.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino now employs more than 3,000 people and is one of the Inland Empire’s largest employers. The revenue generated by the Casino is used to maintain San Manuel Band of Serrano Mission Indians governmental operations and supports the Tribe’s commitment to improving the quality of life for adults, children and families, which has been seen throughout our community.  Their long-standing culture of charitable giving is evidenced by the outstanding work they do in the areas of education, health and economic development. Beyond that, the tribe contributes significantly to the surrounding communities.
“As a company, San Manuel embodies the ideals of corporate leadership and shows an exceptionally strong commitment to the community,” continued Toebben.

The award will be presented to San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino at the Chamber’s 122nd Inaugural Dinner on Feb. 10, 2011, at the JW Marriott Hotel.
