WINTERHAVEN --- A former Fish and Game warden for the Quechan Indian Tribe who was placed on three years probation this week on a weapons case was arrested a second time today after he allegedly made contact with the victim he was ordered to stay away from.
Andrew Lawrence Paddock, 48, was sent back into custody after Probation Chief Jim Moffett said Paddock allegedly went back to his former place of employment Wednesday and made contact with the victim.
Paddock is believed to have been arrested at a location outside of the Quechan Indian Tribe office, Moffett said. The Imperial County Probation Department intends to file a revocation of probation against Paddock with the court, Moffett said.
Paddock's re-arrest comes a day after he had been given credit for 81 days served and had more than 20 weapons-related charges against him dismissed under a plea deal with the Imperial County District Attorney's Office. One of the stipulations placed on Paddock was that he never have contact with the woman he was arrested for threatening, Moffett said.
Paddock had pleaded guilty to a single charge of possessing a large capacity magazine under his plea bargain.
Paddock was arrested in September after sheriff's authorities found weapons in his locker and residence. Paddock worked for the tribe for nine years.
