Former casino official arrested on theft charges

The Associated Press – San Jose Mercury News 07/24/2009

FRESNO, Calif.—A former official of an Indian gaming casino is facing the prospect of time in federal prison after being arrested over allegations he used a corporate credit card for personal expenses.

After being arrested at his Fresno home by state and federal agents, authorities say Jeff Livingston was arraigned in federal court Friday afternoon on two counts of theft.

The 49-year-old Livingston was the general manager of Chukchansi Gold Resort and Casino.

A spokesman for state Attorney General Jerry Brown says while Livingston managed the casino, he charged a combined $27,000 on the card. The money allegedly went for a car down payment and trip to Hawaii.

If convicted, authorities say Livingston is facing up to 20 years in prison.
