Coarsegold-based investor Mighty Oak Capital announced the groundbreaking on August 19 for a revolutionary fuel and retail center near Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino.

Chukchansi Crossing will include restaurants, boutique retail and a cutting-edge fuel and travel center featuring a wide selection of Native American products as well as low-price fuel.

The groundbreaking will be held at 4 p.m. at the site of the future development located at Hwy 41 and Lucky Lane in Coarsegold. The event will be open to the public land will include refreshments and exhibits.

Mighty Oak Capital, the manager of the Chukchansi Indian tribe's funds, was established last summer and made its first investment of Oakhurst-based Yosemite Lumber Company in April.

The company's investments and acquisitions are exempt from most taxes and regulations due to the tribe's legal immunity as a sovereign nation allowing for lower prices and a greater preference in most contracts.
