One arrested in pursuit on Pala Indian Reservation

By Staff, City News Service Southwest Riverside News Network Wednesday, December 2, 2009

One person was arrested Wednesday morning following a two-minute pursuit on the Pala Indian Reservation, but another person appeared to get away, authorities said.

A patrolman began chasing a vehicle seen passing other vehicles on the right-hand shoulder on Pala Temecula Road at 6:34 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol spokesman Ray Scheidnes.

By 6:36 a.m., the chase had ended when the fleeing vehicle stopped at a residence at 53001 Sycamore Lane, Scheidnes said.

One person was found inside the home and arrested, he said. It was not immediately clear whether the person in custody was the driver or a passenger in the vehicle.

It appeared two people were inside the vehicle at the time of the pursuit, according to Scheidnes. Authorities were searching the surrounding area for the second suspect.
