Identity Theft Suspects Nabbed At Feather Falls Casino

OROVILLE, Calif. -- Deputies arrested four suspects in an identity theft ring after an incident at Feather Falls Casino. Butte County investigators looked into a report of a fraudulent check last week. They uncovered an identity theft ring involving four suspects and at least 15 victims.


It started when deputies were called to the casino Wednesday, November 2 for a report of a woman trying to pass a fraudulent check. Deputies arrested Isela Gradilla of Yuba City. They discovered Gradilla had arrived at the casino with three other people, identified as Giovanni Yang, Angela Vitela and Bernie Nacpil all of Sacramento.


A search of the suspects' vehicle turned up check-making materials, printers, computers, fraudulent identification cards and stolen property including checks, mail, bank cards and identifications.

The Butte County Sheriff's Office Felony Investigations Unit has identified at least 15 victims of identity theft related to the case, all in the Sacramento area.


The four suspects were booked into Butte County Jail. Gradilla was booked on charges of burglary, forgery and identity theft. Yang, Vitela and Nacpil were all booked on charges of identity theft.
