That information was revealed at a recent meeting in Tijuana. Federal officials said there were 15 casinos in Mexicali, with two more getting ready to open. There are 12 casinos in Tijuana. The officials said there are 20 applications for new casinos in Mexicali. The city declared a moratorium on casinos in the city. They say they have 20 applications pending for various sizes of casinos for the Capital City of Baja California.
