San Pablo Residents and Workers Unite for Shared Prosperity!
Community Forum Saturday, August 6th, 2:00-4:00pm Maple Hall Community Center, Madeira Room 13831 San Pablo Ave, San Pablo
Last year, the Casino San Pablo brought in over $150 million in gross gaming revenues. So why is San Pablo still the poorest city per capita in the whole Bay Area, with almost 20% of residents living below the poverty line? Why is the average salary for workers at the Casino only $9.50 an hour? Why is the Casino proposing to make new workers wait a full year to get medical benefits and paid sick days?
Residents and workers will be coming together for the first time ever to discuss how we can move our community forward. The Casino can do more for our community and has an opportunity to help pull us out of poverty. Together, we can make sure that if the Casino succeeds, then residents and workers succeed as well.
