ARSON - CALFIRE RELEASES CAUSE OF EAGLE FIRE

July 27,2011 For Immediate Release

 San Diego –CAL FIRE investigators have determined the cause of the Eagle Fire to be arson. No further details will be released until the investigation is completed.
 
The Eagle Fire was reported July 21, 2011, at 10:40 pm on the Los Coyotes Indian Reservation near Warner Springs.  The fire has burned 14,100 acres and is currently 65% contained.  Over 2100 firefighters have been battling the fire in steep, rocky, and inaccessible terrain.  The fire has burned onto the Anza Borrego Desert State Park.  There have been fourteen firefighter injuries.  The estimated cost to suppress the fire to date is $11,600,000.
