Two ex-convicts have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the armed robbery of the Barona Casino in Lakeside, San Diego police said Thursday.
Ryan McKnight, 34, and Robert Chavira, 40, are also suspected of so-called take-over robberies of jewelry stores in San Diego, Riverside and San Jose, police said.
Four armed men stormed into the Barona Casino early Wednesday and attached a chain to a glass case filled with money. One fired a shot into the case. Later, San Diego County sheriff's deputies found an abandoned Ford SUV and a bag of money from the robbery about a mile from the casino.
McKnight and Chavira have been booked into San Diego County jail on parole violations
