June 7, 2010: Requesting the STATES perspective

We ask that the Office of the Secretary of legal Affairs provide the State of California's perspective on the background and analysis of the Guidiville band's claim of restored lands at Point Molate in the City of Richmond. As Secretary of legal Affairs you have sent a number of letters that have shed light on the history and status of lands claimed as restored. Restored lands are re-acquired land, land that a tribe has historically inhabited since time immemorial and exercised governance over. Point Molate has never been a Reservation, Rancheria, Indian lands or continuously inhabited by the Guidiville Band since time immemorial.
