Donald Trump wants a piece of the online gambling action

Thomas Peracchio , Internet Examiner October 22, 2011 –

Donald Trump, longtime Atlantic City casino owner,  wants a piece of the online gambling action and is looking to form an Internet gaming business.

After months of talking, the US House is ready to take some action on the topic of legalizing online poker.  The House Energy and Commerce Manufacturing subpanel will hold a hearing next Tuesday on Internet gambling. Donald Trump looking to jump on the online gambling bandwagon may signal that the deal to finally legalize online betting is coming soon.

In comments made to Forbes Trump said, "This has to happen because many other countries are doing it and like usual the U.S. is just missing out,”  “It seems inevitable, but with this country you never know if it’s inevitable.”

Trump’s comments came after Trump Entertainment Resorts disclosed in a securities filing it will form a joint venture for Internet gambling.
