House Resouces Committee Hearing
The House Natural Resources Committee has scheduled a hearing on Wednesday, April 1, to address the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Carcieri v. Salazar The decision limits the land-into-trust process to tribes that were "under federal jurisdiction" in 1934. Tribes are asking Congress to amend the Indian Reorganization Act to resolve doubts about pending and future applications.
